Securityplus partners with MD Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to expand educational opportunity

BALTIMORE, MD (October 17, 2025) |

In  celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (September  15–October 15), Securityplus Federal Credit Union  proudly partnered with the Maryland Hispanic  Chamber of Commerce (MDHCC) for its 7th Annual  Scholarship Golf Outing at The Woodlands Golf  Course. The event raised vital scholarship funds to  help Hispanic students across Maryland pursue  higher education and achieve their goals.

Bringing together business, civic, and community leaders, the outing highlighted a  shared commitment to strengthening Maryland’s economy through education,  entrepreneurship, and equitable opportunity. For Securityplus, the event represented  more than a sponsorship—it was a tangible expression of the organization’s mission to  empower individuals and uplift the communities it serves.

That commitment, said Obi Ndukwe, Chief People & Impact Officer at Securityplus,  comes from a belief that education fuels lasting change: “When we invest in education,  we’re not just supporting students—we’re helping to build stronger households and  more resilient communities across Maryland.”

Founded with a mission to uplift Hispanic-owned businesses and professionals, the  Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce plays a pivotal role in advancing economic  development and opportunity statewide. Its Scholarship Fund helps reduce barriers to  higher education, enabling students to pursue their academic and professional goals  with confidence.

By supporting the MDHCC and its scholarship initiative, Securityplus continues to  expand its impact through education, strategic partnerships, and community  investment—particularly among underserved and historically underrepresented groups.  The event also celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit and enduring contributions of

Maryland’s Hispanic and Latino communities, reaffirming that inclusion and  empowerment go hand in hand with financial well-being.
