Sikorsky Credit Union announces Thomas J. Williams scholarship winners

STRATFORD, CT (June 30, 2020) — Sikorsky Credit Union awarded five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who are headed to college this fall.

Sikorsky Credit Union annually awards scholarships to high school seniors that plan on continuing their education in the fall. The money is to go towards college expenses such as tuition, books, or other school materials. The scholarship is named after Thomas J. Williams, longtime CEO of the Credit Union, who passed away in 2015.

To qualify for the scholarship, students were required to write an essay describing the most important money management lesson that they’ve learned from Sikorsky Credit Union that will help them manage their finances in college. Essays are then reviewed by a committee who select the top five essays for the scholarship recipients.

This year’s Thomas J. Williams Scholarship winners are Mitchell Bronson of Orange, Christian Aja of Monroe, Fabioa Millien-Faustin of Stratford, Taylor Nelson of Seymour and Colin Grib of Stratford.

“Each of the recipients of this year’s scholarship are so deserving and we were happy to see that the Credit Union made a positive impact in all their lives,” stated Sikorsky Credit Union’s CEO Vincent Ciambriello. “We hope this scholarship will help them with their college careers and future endeavors.”
