TACOMA, WA (July 28, 2025) |
Sound Credit Union (Sound) welcomed members, employees and community to the ribbon-cutting celebration of its new Downtown Olympia branch on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The event was held in collaboration with the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce.
Sound obtained the location through its recent acquisition of Washington Business Bank (WBB). Established in 1940, the credit union now serves over 174,000 members and offers a wide array of consumer and business financial products and services. With the addition of the Downtown Olympia branch, Sound now operates 26 full-service locations throughout the Puget Sound region.
“Sound is thrilled to have this new location in Downtown Olympia to serve our members and the community,” said Don Clark, President & CEO of Sound Credit Union. “We currently have over 3,500 members who live and operate their businesses within a five-mile radius of this location. This branch allows our team to better support those members while building meaningful connections with others in the community as their trusted financial partner.
As part of its continued commitment to giving back, Sound presented a $2,500 donation to the North Thurston Education Foundation (NTEF) during the event. NTEF is a nonprofit organization that provides Student Assistance Grants to local students facing financial barriers.
“We are honored to partner with the foundation to help ensure students have access to the resources they need to pursue their education and career goals,” added Clark. “Programs like NTEF are vital to preparing the next generation for success.”
