Southeastern Federal Credit Union donates Thanksgiving meals

VALDOSTA, GA (November 27, 2013) — Southeastern Federal Credit Union provided Thanksgiving meals to ten disadvantaged families in the community through their fourth annual Thanksgiving Meals Drive. These meals were donated by the employees of Southeastern who began collecting food in early November.

This annual event began in 2010 as a way for Southeastern to not only assist local families in need but also to deepen the relationship with their partner schools through the Community Partners in Education (CPIE) program. Since the Meals Drive was started, Southeastern has provided full Thanksgiving meals to 34 local families. “We are pleased to be donating Thanksgiving meals to local families in need for the fourth year in a row,” says Lori Cauley, Vice President of Marketing/Business Development at Southeastern. “Our employees give very generously so that others who are less fortunate can have a special Thanksgiving as well.” The families chosen this year were identified by Southeastern’s five CPIE schools: J.L. Lomax Elementary, J.L. Newbern Middle, Moulton Branch Elementary, Pine Grove Middle, and W.G. Nunn Elementary. The Credit Union has been a strong supporter of the CPIE program for more than 10 years.

Southeastern Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution serving South Georgia since 1953. The Credit Union is owned by its 24,000+ members and governed by a member-elected board of directors. Southeastern has branch offices located in Valdosta, Tifton and Moody AFB.
