Southland Credit Union’s Marketing Team won five awards from the Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) annual competition.
The MAC Awards were announced at the 2019 MAC Conference in May. More than 70 credit unions won awards in 21 different categories.
Southland won a gold award in the Product Development category for its Southland Jr. Savers Accounts. Kids ages 2 to 12 can open a Southland Jr. Savers Account with a $5 deposit and learn how to save and manage money at a young age. The accounts are also ideal for parents who would like to start saving money for their children’s future.
A silver award from a new category, Culture/Internal Branding, was given to Southland Credit Union’s rebranding efforts in 2018. Southland’s new logo and tagline was unveiled in September 2018, and it marked the Credit Union’s first major rebranding effort in 15 years.
The new Southland Credit Union logo won a bronze award in the Logos category. The new look was the result of extensive research and outreach to both Members and non-Members alike, whose feedback signaled that an update was needed to enhance Southland’s existing brand and logo attributes.
Project GO Kart, a fundraising campaign supported by donations from Southland Associates and Members, won a bronze award in the Community Engagement category. The project funded the creation and deliver of hospital-grade video game console carts to CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange County.
Southland Credit Union’s magazine Southland Times also won for a second year in a row with a bronze award in the Newsletters category. The quarterly publication is distributed in Southland’s branch locations and is mailed out to Members of the Credit Union.
