MELBOURNE, FL (June 11, 2026) |
Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) announced today its support of the Miami Dolphins Girls Flag Football League. The program held annually during the summer brings together approximately 380 high school athletes from across South Florida for programming focused on competition, skills training and athlete growth.
“We’re proud to continue deepening our partnership with the Miami Dolphins through a program that supports local student-athlete development for young women across South Florida,” said Shane Hoyle, president and CEO of Space Coast Credit Union. “Women’s sports, and in particular flag football, continue to gain momentum, and this program supports the development of local athletes by providing access and resources that elevate their game and foster continued growth of the sport.”
In January 2026, the NCAA officially added women's flag football to its Emerging Sports for Women program, creating a clear pathway toward official NCAA championship status and varsity scholarships. The Dolphins’ Girls Flag Football League officially began on June 9 and features round robin competitions three days a week, tournament play and skills development opportunities led by coaches from the Dolphins Youth Football program. To support the program, SCCU will provide athlete swag bags to all participants, along with additional support for the league’s playoffs and championship taking place on July 7–8. This initiative is an extension of SCCU’s partnership with the Miami Dolphins that was first announced in 2024 as the credit union’s first professional sports partnership.
