Spirit of America Federal Credit Union expands youth financial education through partnership with My First Nest Egg

Lincoln, NE (June 17, 2026) |

Spirit of America Federal Credit Union announced a new partnership with My First Nest Egg, a family-first financial education program designed to help children build strong money habits early. The collaboration reflects Spirit of America's commitment to supporting military, federal, and postal families through engaging financial education resources that help young members build confidence and develop lifelong money skills.

As part of the partnership, Spirit of America Federal Credit Union will provide members with access to family financial education resources designed to make money conversations more approachable, engaging, and practical. Families will have access to seasonal activities, printable resources, educational content, and age-appropriate learning experiences that help children and teens build confidence around saving, spending, earning, and planning for the future.

"Spirit of America Federal Credit Union is looking forward to educating our young members about financial literacy and helping them develop good money habits," said Cheryl Wiemer, President. "The content is delivered through fun activities while still providing valuable lessons on how to become financially successful. As the future of our credit union, our young members deserve a strong financial foundation, and we are committed to helping them build it through financial education."

Since 1932, Spirit of America Federal Credit Union has proudly served military personnel, federal employees, postal employees, and their families. Built on a foundation of service, trust, and financial empowerment, the credit union continues to invest in programs and resources that strengthen the financial well-being of members across generations.

Co-founded by two mothers and former attorneys, Nicolle Hood and Annie Shoen created My First Nest Egg to address the growing need for engaging, age-appropriate financial education. Through family activities, educational resources, and real-world learning experiences, the program helps children and teens build confidence around saving, spending, earning, budgeting, and financial decision-making.

"Financial habits begin forming long before a child opens their first checking account or receives their first paycheck," said Nicolle Hood, Co-Founder & CEO of My First Nest Egg. "Spirit of America Federal Credit Union's long-standing commitment to serving military, federal, and postal families makes them an incredible partner. Together, we're helping families create more opportunities for meaningful money conversations and build strong financial foundations that can last a lifetime."
