Spring cleaning: DCECU employees clean up boulevard

MIDLAND, MI (May 20, 2015) — Recently, Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union staff members took advantage of an afternoon of pleasant spring weather to clean almost a mile of the boulevard area in front of the credit union.

Wearing brightly colored reflector vests, employees cleaned up trash and other debris between East Lyon Road and East Patrick Road, from Pine Street to Washington Street, including the area around the bicycle and pedestrian path that runs through the boulevard area.

“Giving back to our community is one of DCECU’s chief priorities,” said President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “Our employees are committed to this principle and demonstrate it daily. I couldn’t be more proud of the contributions our team makes to keeping our community strong and vibrant.”

In addition to volunteer events such as the roadway cleanup project and recent participation in Midland County Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week, credit union employees also engage in fundraising for various causes. Already in 2015, they have raised more than $1,100 for charitable and community organizations through regular Jeans Day for Charity fundraisers.
