STCU Rathdrum Branch to open later this year

Credit union expands branch network for Idaho members

STCU will open its sixthNorth Idaho branch location in late 2019, continuing a period of unparalleled growth forthe 85-year-old financial cooperative.

The 3,300-square-foot Rathdrum Branch will be located at the southwest corner of Vera Street and Highway 41, directly across from Lakeland Junior High School, and will feature a drive-through withteller and ATM access. Bernardo/Wills Architects PC of Spokane will handle the Craftsman-style design.

Since the opening of the Post Falls and Silver Lake branches in 2007, STCU’s membership has more than doubled, and more than 15 percent of them live in Idaho. The credit union expects new personal and business memberships to keep pace as the region continues to grow.

“With an increasing number of Kootenai County residents and businesses joining the credit union, we have the opportunity to provide service that’s closer to home for many of them,” said Ezra Eckhardt, STCU president and CEO. “It will give many of our members an alternative to the busy I-90 corridor.”

In addition to the upcoming Rathdrum Branch, construction is underway to relocate and expand the Bonner County Branch in Ponderay, nearly doubling the size of the existing branch and adding two drive-through lanes. The two buildings, only 300 feet apart, share a parking lot at the intersection of U.S. Highway 95 and Kootenai Cutoff Road.

The Rathdrum site will be STCU’s 24th location, including two newly opened Tri-Cities locations in Kennewick and Richland. A third Tri-Cities branch location, in Pasco, is slated to open later this year.
