Sun East FCU promotes Debbie Cook to President, working with CEO Michael Kaczenski

PHOENIX, AZ (July 31, 2023) — Sun East Federal Credit Union ($877M, Aston, PA) is promoting Debbie Cook, who currently serves as EVP/Chief Financial Officer, to the role of President. As President, Cook will work closely with Sun East’s continuing Chief Executive Officer, Michael Kaczenski.

Cook has served Sun East as a senior finance executive for more than a decade and brings over 30 years of industry experience to her new position. She previously served as an examiner for the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and in various finance and accounting roles at Del-One Federal Credit Union. Cook was chosen as a Philadelphia Business Journal 2022 CFO of the Year Honoree and successfully completed all the requirements of the CUES CEO Institute to earn the designation of Certified Chief Executive, CCE, earlier this year.

Beginning July 31, 2023, as President, she will oversee Accounting/Finance, Lending, Collections, Marketing, Risk Management, Branches, Call Center, Payment Solutions, and Member Relationships departments.

Cook received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Wesley College in Dover, Delaware. She is married with two children and welcomed her first grandchild this year. Her hobbies include spending time at the beach with family and friends and traveling.
