Supreme Lending wins two prestigious business awards

Company recognized by SMU’s Caruth Institute for entrepreneurship and by the Dallas Business Journal for growth and workplace excellence

DALLAS, TX (November 20, 2013) — Supreme Lending, a Dallas-based nationwide mortgage banker, has won two prestigious business awards for organizations based in the Dallas area. The company was granted the Southern Methodist University 2013 Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship’s Dallas 100™ Award, and was also named one of the 2013 Best Places to Work in North Texas by the Dallas Business Journal.

The Dallas 100 Awards is an annual event that identifies and honors the 100 fastest growing privately held companies in the Dallas area. Co-founded by the Caruth Institute in 1990, the event is limited to independent, privately held companies headquartered in the Dallas Metroplex area. Dallas 100 Award winners are chosen on increased growth in sales, giving weight to percentage of growth and absolute dollar growth in the three years preceding the event. Supreme Lending grew 154% between 2010 and 2013, increasing revenue from $57 million to $129 million.

CEOs of companies winning the 2013 Dallas 100 Award were honored at a ceremony at the Omni Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas, on November 14, 2013.  Supreme Lending’s CEO Scott Everett was ranked #16 of the 100 CEOs whose companies were named to the Dallas 100.

In addition to winning the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship’s Dallas 100 Award, Supreme Lending also made the Dallas business Journal’s Best Places to Work list.  Now in its 11th year, the Dallas Business Journal’s Best Places to Work is an annual awards program that the publication co-produces with Quantum Workplace, an independent research firm. More than 370 companies applied for the award this year. As part of the evaluation process, employees for each company were surveyed by Quantum Workplace, which matched results against national standards. Supreme Lending was one of only 57 companies selected. Winners of this year’s award were announced at a ceremony held at the Fairmont Dallas Hotel on September 26th.

Since its inception in 1999, Supreme Lending has focused on providing a positive, professional environment for customers and employees alike. Part of the company’s vision is based on the consistent process of seeking ways to create a more pleasant and enjoyable work environment for its employees. Supreme has implemented numerous employee-focused measures, including an onsite workout facility with showers; a game room with pool table, ping pong table and video games; charity programs, contemporary office décor, and a casual dress program. At Supreme, employees are encouraged to get involved with company-sponsored charity efforts, and to take time off during the year in order to “recharge” and stay energized and positive in their jobs.

Supreme hosts numerous employee events throughout the year, including an annual Easter egg hunt for eggs with a total of $20,000 cash hidden inside; casino trips; snow cone days; cookouts; bingo nights; and an annual President’s Club trip for the top 50 originators and top 10 operations staff, and their guests. The company also offers a strong benefits package and routinely engages software developers to create custom, user-friendly technologies that solve company-specific issues and create greater job satisfaction for users.

“These two awards are actually very intertwined for us,” said Everett. “One of the reasons we’ve achieved the growth that enabled us to win the Dallas 100 Award is that we’ve created a professional environment that’s one of the Best Places to Work in the Dallas area. You simply can’t achieve the level of service we provide to our customers unless you truly care about your employees as well as your customers. It’s an honor to be recognized with both of these prestigious designations. At Supreme, we believe that service is a day-in and day-out practice that starts with the way we treat our employees.”
