Texans Credit Union (Texans), a leading credit union in North Texas, announces today the appointment of Amy Ecker as its director of marketing and Cameron Smith as its director of consumer lending.
After two decades of leading successful brand initiatives in the credit union industry, Ecker brings extensive experience to her role as she will oversee all of Texans’ marketing functions. She will direct corporate initiatives and develop comprehensive plans to strengthen real estate lending, drive membership growth and elevate the member experience across the entire brand. Texans’ product positioning, advertising and communication across various marketing platforms, including Texans' website, social media, print media, digital advertising and search engine marketing will also be under Ecker’s strategic management.
Ecker most recently served as vice president of marketing and corporate communications at UNIFY Financial Federal Credit Union, where she developed and executed marketing strategies and corporate communications for a $4 billion credit union serving members nationwide. She enhanced UNIFY’s corporate visibility and member engagement through high-profile sponsorships with the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, Toyota Music Factory and Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
Prior to her role at UNIFY, Ecker spent 14 years at Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union as vice president of marketing and business development. Additionally, she demonstrated her leadership by serving on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Chapter of Credit Unions for eight years in various roles including Marketing Chair and Chapter President.
“Cameron and Amy both bring exceptional expertise and leadership to our team at Texans Credit Union,” said David Frazier, president and CEO of Texans. “Cameron’s innovative approach to consumer lending and Amy’s strategic vision in marketing will be instrumental in driving our initiatives forward. Together, they embody our commitment to delivering outstanding service and solutions for our members, and we are excited to have them on board.”
Smith will be responsible for the daily oversight and management of the consumer lending department, focusing on both direct and indirect underwriting, loan processing and consumer loan servicing. He will leverage data and analytics to monitor credit risk and drive product development, establishing key performance indicators to assess team productivity and promote continuous improvement. Additionally, Smith will work collaboratively across departments to align lending goals with organizational objectives, enhancing the overall member experience.
He served as vice president of lending at Neighborhood Credit Union prior to joining Texans, where he restructured the lending department and implemented innovative technologies to enhance efficiency and approval rates. In his previous role as Lending Sales Manager, he led his team to record ancillary product sales and successfully adopted Centralized Lending, significantly increasing overall volume. Smith was integral in starting the Young Professionals program and served as a mentor for the Internal Leadership program for two years, helping to foster new leaders and create development opportunities at the credit union.
