BETHPAGE, NY (June 10, 2014) — Bethpage Federal Credit Union, New York State’s largest credit union and Long Island’s leading community financial institution, today announces the grand opening of its 28th branch on Long Island in Long Beach, New York. Bethpage will be the first credit union to open in the City of Long Beach.

“Bethpage is thrilled to officially become a member of the Long Beach community after working so closely with town officials on over the past year and a half on Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts,” said Kirk Kordeleski, President and CEO, Bethpage. “A big priority for Bethpage, we are very eager to work hand in hand with area businesses and residents to offer our continued assistance, and make loans, products and services available with the best rates and lowest fees possible, to aid in continued growth.”
“We couldn’t be happier to officially welcome Bethpage to the City of Long Beach,” said Scott J. Mandel, Long Beach City Council President. “Bethpage’s unwavering support of our unique seaside community greatly helped get our feet off the ground during a time of uncertainty, and then continued for many months following. They are a true community partner and I look forward to implementing many successful initiatives together.”
“We are committed to continuing to help Long Beach rebuild and restore the many programs and facilities impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Long Beach is a wonderful, diverse community
which we plan on being an active member of, for many years to come,” said Linda Armyn, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Bethpage.
Bethpage was the first company committed to partner with the City of Long Beach to help bring its crucial “Open for Business” advertising campaign, featuring Billy Crystal, to fruition in time for the 2013 summer beach season. “We are proud to call Long Beach one of our new Bethpage homes,” continued Armyn. Since Hurricane Sandy, Bethpage has donated $120K to the City of Long Beach and will continue to support community-based activities, as we become a more active partner in the community.
Beginning today, as part of its partnership, and exclusive to the Long Beach community, Bethpage will also donate $50 to the City of Long Beach Relief Fund and $50 to the member, for every new checking account with full Direct Deposit opened at its new Long Beach branch. Members can also show off their Long Beach pride by applying for a commemorative Long Beach Debit Card.
Bethpage is currently in the midst of expanding plan with 28 Long Island branches; 16 located in Nassau County and 12 located in Suffolk County.
