The MCU Foundation donates $165K to Children’s Aid in support of New York City children, youth, and families

The investment will help expand access to food, housing assistance, financial wellness education and essential family services across New York City.

NEW YORK, NY (July 16, 2026) |

The MCU Foundation, the charitable arm of Municipal Credit Union, announced a $165,000 donation to Children’s Aid, one of the many nonprofit organizations supported by the Foundation, as part of its ongoing commitment to helping New Yorkers build stronger and more financially secure futures.

The donation will support Children’s Aid’s work with children, youth and families across New York City, including at three of its community-based locations: the Next Generation Center in the South Bronx, the Frederick Douglass Community Center on the Upper West Side and the Dunlevy Milbank Community Center in Central Harlem. As part of the Foundation’s continued partnership with Children’s Aid, members of MCU’s executive leadership team recently visited the three sites to see firsthand the impact of their support, learn more about the organization’s programs, and present $55,000 checks at each location – totaling $165,000 in funding for 2026.

Children's Aid partners with children and families from early childhood through young adulthood, providing integrated supports that include education, health care, youth development, family services and workforce readiness.

“Children’s Aid has been a trusted partner to New York City families for generations, and the MCU Foundation is proud to support their work creating opportunity, stability and hope in the communities we serve,” said George Chacon, President and Executive Director of the MCU Foundation. “This donation is about helping Children’s Aid respond to families’ most immediate needs while also supporting the long-term growth and well-being of children and young people across the city.”

“At MCU, we believe financial empowerment means showing up for our neighbors and investing in the organizations that are doing the work every day,” added Kyle Markland, CEO of Municipal Credit Union. “Children’s Aid is making a meaningful difference for families across New York City, and this partnership reflects our commitment to strengthening the communities our members call home.”

“This investment will help Children’s Aid provide vital resources and opportunities for children, youth and families across New York City, from food, clothing and housing assistance to health and wellness services, enrichment programs, and pathways to long-term stability,” said Phoebe C. Boyer, President and CEO of Children’s Aid. “Together, we are helping remove barriers, so every young person has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.”

From January through June 2026, the MCU Foundation funding helped Children’s Aid provide food support for more than 100 families, clothing support for more than 200 New Yorkers, housing support for 39 participants and families, holiday gifts for 200 participants, licensures and credentials for five participants and financial wellness programming for 35 individuals.
