The York Chapter of Credit Unions awards two scholarships!

YORK, PA (May 8, 2015) — On Monday, May 4, 2015, the York Chapter of Credit Unions announced the winners of its 2015 scholarship contest; Camille Hoover and Leanne Bahn.  Both ladies received $500 to go towards their first year of schooling.

Camille Hoover is a member of York Educational FCU.  She is the daughter of Doug and Colleen Hoover and is a senior at West York Area High School.  Camille plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and Climatology.

Leanne Bahn is a member of Glatco Credit Union.  She is the daughter of Lisa and Timothy Bahn and a senior at Spring Grove High School.  Leanne plans to attend Elizabethtown College in the fall to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.

“We are proud to support our Credit Union members by offering these scholarships,” said Bill Bowker, Chapter President.  “We wish both of these young ladies success in college.”

Also during that meeting, Kim Zelna, Director of Compliance Services for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, presented West York Area School District Employees FCU with a plaque and clock in honor of its 50th Anniversary.

The York Chapter of Credit Unions is an organization of not-for-profit financial institutions whose guiding philosophy has always been “People Helping People.”
