Topline Federal Credit Union launches charitable foundation

Local credit union launches 501(c)(3) non-profit to extend its support for financial literacy, scholarships, community give-backs and charitable organizations.

MAPLE GROVE, MN (April 29, 2015) — Local member-owned financial cooperative TopLine Federal Credit Union announces the creation of the TopLine Credit Union Foundation — a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to support the credit union’s community outreach initiatives. Guided by its mission of “working within the community to build a better tomorrow,” the foundation will focus on financial education and scholarships, community-based charitable organizations and local disaster relief efforts.

TopLine has a longstanding dedication of providing members with an array of financial education opportunities — including free seminars, youth financial literacy programs designed for children of all ages, and complementary financial counseling services. In addition, the credit union sponsors annual donation drives, college prep workshops and various local events, offered in conjunction with community partners across the Twin Cities metro.

“For 80 years, TopLine has looked out for our members’ best interests — educating them about wise money management, and supporting our local communities through community programs and other volunteer efforts,” said Tom Smith, TopLine’s

President and CEO. “The TopLine Credit Union Foundation will continue to support our cooperative spirit of ‘people helping people’ by living our mantra — to connect, care and contribute in the communities we serve. The newly named President of the TopLine Credit Union Foundation is Vicki Roscoe Erickson, who is also the credit union’s Vice President of Marketing.”

Employees and members have already started giving to the TopLine Credit Union Foundation, and community members are also encouraged to take part. TopLine Federal Credit Union will match individual donations up to $100, and up to $20,000 cumulatively in 2015.
