TraceSecurity releases bash shellshock authenticated signature for TraceCSO Scanner

BATON ROUGE, LA (October 3, 2014) TraceSecurity, a pioneer in cloud-based information security and compliance management solutions, today announced that TraceCSO, the company’s cloud-based software solution, has been enhanced with a Bash Shellshock Authenticated Signature for customers using the TraceCSO vulnerability scanner. This means TraceCSO customers can get reports detailing their enterprise-wide exposure whenever they next scan their assets, which allows them to get visibility into the impact in their organization and efficiently track the remediation speed of the issue.

The update in TraceCSO is available now and is applied once the user’s scanner has completed any currently running scans or is idle. For any machine to be scanned, valid SSH credentials must be provided in the scanner web interface.

“We will release additional ShellShock signatures over time as different attack vectors continue to be discovered, but are up-to-date with current industry regulations,” said Peter Stewart, CEO and president of TraceSecurity. “Because TraceCSO is delivered through the cloud, we can discover and release signatures very quickly, and no user interaction is necessary.”
