Truliant opens Ballantyne Member Financial Center

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (June 9, 2015) — Truliant Federal Credit Union held a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the opening of the credit union’s newest full-service branch location in south Charlotte’s Ballantyne community.

The 2,300-square-foot Ballantyne facility is located off the I-485 Loop’s Highway 521/Johnston Road exit, near the North Carolina/South Carolina border. It is part of an expansion that will give Truliant a total of 14 Member Financial Centers in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region by the end of 2016.

The 63-year-old credit union has had a presence in Charlotte for nearly three decades and is now dotting its I-485 corridor and interior with new locations.

The Member Financial Centers reflect Truliant’s new Life Improved brand with increased amenities, an open design, Wi-Fi access and teller pods that remove barriers to improve member interactions. The Ballantyne branch includes a walk-up Smart ATM that distributes multi-denominational amounts and accepts deposits without envelopes.

Ballantyne is Truliant’s ninth Charlotte expansion Member Financial Center and is being managed by David Payne. The credit union currently has 29 branches.

“This is an ideal location for our members and its opening is part of Truliant’s continued commitment to providing convenient locations and outstanding service with our members’ best interest at heart in a way that fits their busy lifestyles,” Payne said.

Payne will lead efforts to grow membership, help member-owners accomplish financial goals and cultivate strong relationships with existing and future business partners, with a goal of providing greater access to a better banking alternative to Charlotte-Mecklenburg residents.

Truliant Federal Credit Union is opening 10 new Queen City locations by the end of 2016. Most residents of the region are eligible to join.

Since November, Truliant has opened Charlotte-area Member Financial Centers in Mint Hill, Harrisburg and Park Road and Rivergate areas. The credit union will soon open Mecklenburg regional locations in the Mallard Creek, Waverly, South Boulevard and Cornelius areas.

Next week, Truliant will announce winners of the social media competition it launched in support of the expansion. The campaign is awarding four individuals $25,000 each for a total of $100,000. The contest asked entrants how $25,000 would help them achieve their “why” in life. To see finalists, visit www.truliantmywhy.com.

Additionally, Truliant recently launched a new website to enhance its member experience that features intuitive functionality; a design that adjusts to smart TVs, personal computers, tablets and mobile devices; and interactive online calculators and decision tools that provide guidance to improve members’ lives.

“In addition to free interest checking, we have a variety of low-rate options on our auto loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, mortgages and other loans. We also provide No-Cost Credit Reviews for new and existing members to provide guidance on areas to save money and ways to reach your goals more quickly. “Payne said.

“At Truliant, you’re not a number. We give our members access when, where and how they want to, without sacrificing service or paying high fees. We look forward to growing our membership in this community.”
