TruWest Credit Union helps kids gear up for success with supply drive & giveaway

Mesa, AZ (May 29, 2025) |

In an ongoing effort to support families and help students thrive, TruWest Credit Union is proud to serve as the title sponsor for the 2025 School Supply Drive and Back to School Giveaway hosted by Community Bridges, Inc. In partnership with several other community-based organizations, the initiative will provide essential resources to students across the Valley.

The School Supply Drive will run throughout June, collecting donations to prepare for the culminating community event on Saturday, July 26, at the Interstake Center in Mesa. Open to all K-12 students in the community, the event will offer:

  • Backpacks filled with school supplies
  • Free laptops and computer education (registration required)
  • Complimentary haircuts
  • Dental cleanings
  • Sports physicals
  • Parent and student resources

“This effort is about more than just preparing students for school, it’s about removing barriers for families,” said Natalia Chimbo-Andrade, director of community education and outreach at Community Bridges, Inc. “When we create access to resources like health screenings, technology, and basic supplies, we’re investing in the well-being of the whole child.”

“We’re proud to support students and help families ease the stress of back-to-school season,” said Chris Kearney, president and CEO of TruWest Credit Union. “Every child should have the supplies they need to feel prepared and ready to learn.”

Community members who would like to contribute can drop off new supplies at any financial service center in the Valley.
