United Heritage Charity Foundation announces new board of directors

The Charity Foundation Switches to an Employee-Led Organization

The United Heritage Charity Foundation (UHCF) is pleased to announce the election of a fully employee-led Board of Directors. The Board is composed of United Heritage Credit Union (UHCU) employees, including Chelsea Schrimpf, AVP of Experience and Engagement; Kevin Farley, VP of Experience and Engagement; Brandi McCarns, Experience and Engagement Outreach Manager; Sarah Saxon, AVP of Operations; and Charles Weaner, Digital Services Manager.

Last year, the Charity Foundation made some new and strategic changes regarding its relationships with charitable organizations and the community. Chelsea Schrimpf, a UHCF Board member since 2022, now takes on the role of Chairman. Her succession ensures that the organization will continue to prioritize initiatives, such as the United Heritage H. Ralph Wilburn Memorial Scholarship and the Donation Partnership Program which help the Charity Foundation align more closely to its specific core areas of focus. Additionally, Kevin Farley and Brandi McCarns took on the respective Vice Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer roles, while Sarah Saxon and Charles Weaner joined as members of the Board.

“The United Heritage Charity Foundation’s relationships and support within the Central and East Texas area are key in amplifying and promoting the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”. Our best connection to our local communities is through our employees, who live and interact in these communities every day. We believe this will help us cultivate our relationships in our communities and beyond,” said Chelsea Schrimpf, United Heritage Charity Foundation Chairman.

The Charity Foundation and its newly appointed Board of Directors look forward to continuing to enhance existing initiatives and exploring new opportunities to engage in our local communities.

The Charity Foundation has partnered with projects and organizations in numerous ways, including volunteering time, in-kind gifts, and monetary funds that exceed more than $2 million. The Charity Foundation's top priority is contributing to deserving charities that positively impact and make a difference.
