United Heritage Credit Union Announces New Chief Operations Officer

AUSTIN, TX (January 6, 2023) — United Heritage Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Samantha Hess to the position of Chief Operations Officer. In this role, Samantha will oversee all aspects of UHCU’s Operations department which now includes branch operations, contact center, digital and payment services, education, facilities, and project management.

Samantha has 18 years of financial institution experience and has been with United Heritage for 13 years, most recently in the role of Vice President of Digital Operations & Services. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated a deep understanding of the Credit Union’s values and goals, utilizing her extensive and diverse experience to drive positive change at United Heritage.  She holds a BBA in Finance from Texas State University and an MBA from Texas A&M University – Central Texas.

“We are confident that Samantha’s knowledge and leadership will play a pivotal role in the future success of the Credit Union,” said Michael Ver Schuur, UHCU’s Executive Vice President and CSO. “Ultimately, we strive to deliver excellence in service across all of our service channels for our members, and she will ensure that our operations continue to improve as the Credit Union reaches new goals and milestones.”

As COO, Samantha will play a key role in developing strategic operational objectives and bringing about changes that will lead UHCU to exceptional growth in both assets and members while upholding our core values and emphasizing the Credit Union philosophy of “People Helping People.”
