Unitus Community Credit Union named one of Portland’s most admired companies

PORTLAND, OR (December 30, 2013) — Unitus Community Credit Union, a Portland-based credit union with more than 82,000 members, recently made the Portland Business Journal’s 2013 list of “Most Admired Companies.”

Portland’s “Most Admired Companies” were chosen by hundreds of area business executives across numerous industries. Companies receiving recognition were grouped by industry categories, with Unitus being chosen as one of only two credit unions named in Financial Services.

“There are many outstanding companies in Portland. To be named among the most admired is truly an honor and reflects our long-standing commitment to our employees, members and the communities we serve,” said Unitus President and CEO Patricia Smith.

The award closes out a banner year for Unitus, during which it received numerous accolades. Earlier this year, the credit union was again ranked by Oregon Business magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon” and also received the Portland Business Journal’s “Corporate Philanthropy” award for the fourth consecutive year. Unitus was also recognized nationally last month by the National Credit Union Association for innovative programs that financially empower its members and make a difference in the community.
