UW Credit Union to break ground on second Wauwatosa branch

MADISON, WI (November 10, 2014) — UW Credit Union has reached an agreement and received approval to break ground for its second Wauwatosa branch, located at 6510 West State Street. Demolition and other work to prepare the site for new construction are expected to begin before the end of November. Based on the weather-dependent construction progress, the company hopes to open the branch in late 2015 or early 2016.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming new Milwaukee-area residents to the credit union,” said Jason Feist, UW Credit Union’s Vice President of Member Services. “Our new location will also make it more convenient for the 32,500 members and University of Wisconsin alumni living in the area to access our services.”

With the opening of the State Street branch, UW Credit Union will have six Milwaukee-area locations and 23 branches located throughout Wisconsin. The company opened its first Wauwatosa branch, located at 2365 North Mayfair Road, in May of 2010.

“In 2013, more than 13,000 new members joined the credit union,” said Paul Kundert, President & CEO of UW Credit Union. “This growth, along with our strong balance sheet, enables us to expand our locations and address member feedback for additional Milwaukee-area locations.”

The Wauwatosa location will be a full-service branch and will include drive-up service and surcharge-free ATMs. The credit union provides a complete range of consumer financial services including checking accounts, consumer loans and mortgage lending products.
