Valley Credit Union supports families in need with a holiday toy drive

Valley Credit Union recently hosted their third annual holiday toy drive to encourage Billings residents to bring toy donations for the US Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys 4 Tots program, which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy gifts.

Alongside the plethora of toys received at the drive, the credit union donated $500 to add to the donations. It also garnered an additional $2,300 from the local community and roughly $800 from its employees. Billing’s Target took 20% off of the credit union’s entire purchase and provided a large amount of “buy two get one free” on items. When savings were added up, they rounded out to nearly $2,800.

“This program helps our community come together in the holiday spirit by helping less fortunate families in the community,” said Joseph Olivo, branch manager at Valley Credit Union. “Our ethos of ‘People Helping People’ drives us 365 days a year, but during the holiday season, it’s even more important to turn those words into actions. This is our third year participating and we look forward to many, many more years to come.
