Veridian Credit Union to unveil 2014 ArtShare display in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (February 3, 2014) – Veridian Credit Union will host its annual ArtShare Premiere on Monday, February 17 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at its branch at 5805 Rockwell Drive NE in Cedar Rapids. ArtShare is an annual collection of art created by Marion High School students. Each piece is selected by the school’s art teachers and professionally framed or prepared for public display in the Veridian branch.

The ArtShare Premiere is an unveiling of the 2014 collection, which will remain on display in the Veridian branch throughout the year.  More than 30 original pieces ranging from digital photography and graphic design to paintings and pottery have been chosen.

“ArtShare is a celebration of the young talent that exists in our communities,” said Justin Mager, Veridian’s East Central Regional Manager. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to decorate our walls with the students’ work and for the chance to share these pieces of art with everyone who visits this branch.” Veridian also partners with schools in Ankeny and Waterloo to coordinate similar ArtShare displays.

Attendance to the premiere is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. A preview of the collection will be posted to Veridian’s Facebook page, and the featured artists are encouraged to tweet about their involvement in the ArtShare program using the #myArtShare hashtag.
