Vermont Federal Credit Union and Spectrum Youth & Family Services came together once again to advocate for Vermont youth at the 2025 Empty Bowl Dinner. On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, community members, local restaurants, and artisans gathered at UVM’s Davis Center to support Vermont youth facing homelessness, mental health challenges, and other crises.
This year’s Empty Bowl Dinner brought together hundreds from all over Vermont for an evening of creativity and compassion. Guests chose beautifully handcrafted ceramic bowls made by local artisans, filling them with soups generously donated by area restaurants. Beyond the meal, attendees made a tangible difference through the Giving Board, providing everything from warm winter coats and school supplies to laptops and personal care kits, directly supporting Vermont youth in need.
Vermont Federal and Spectrum shared updates on how the funds raised are being used in housing, counseling, education, and mentorship programs, highlighting real stories of youth whose lives have been transformed. The discussion also explored opportunities for ongoing community involvement, including volunteer initiatives, advocacy, and partnerships, reinforcing the message that lasting change comes from continued collaboration and collective action. Thanks to the generosity of the Vermont community, the 2025 event raised over $106,000, ensuring that Spectrum can expand its vital services across the state.
