Christner joins CUNA as media relations manager

(MAY 9, 2014) — Vicki Christner has joined the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) as media relations manager for the nation’s largest credit union advocacy group.

Christner comes to CUNA from LMG, where she served as Associate Director of Public Affairs and Public Relations. Prior to that, she worked in the press shop of U.S. Rep. Gary Peters (D-MI), a member of the House Financial Services Committee. She brings more six years of experience in influential messaging and strategic communications on key policy issues.

In her role at CUNA, Christner will be responsible for reaching out to press – covering credit unions, Capitol Hill and national financial issues — on behalf of CUNA, with the latest developments, trends and suggestions for story ideas about the credit union movement.

“Vicki brings strong background to bear for credit unions and CUNA, particularly with insights to Capitol Hill and its workings,” said Patrick Keefe, CUNA senior vice president of communications. “There is so much going on here in Washington for credit unions today that have an impact on credit unions, Vicki will be in constant contact with the press on behalf of CUNA and its members.”

Christner has Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
