We want to “C U” in a T for the Movement

Financial Center and I.C. Ink unveil 2014 CU T’s web store

STOCKTON, CA (September 2, 2014) – Stockton, Calif. based Financial Center Credit Union, in partnership with I.C. Ink, recently launched CU T’s, a line of hipster t-shirts created to help raise awareness and funds for the California Credit Union League Political Action Committee. – www.icink.com/stores/CUT.

Credit Union executives, staff, volunteers and members alike can visit the online store starting today to see and order the three trendy designs to add to their CU T’s collection. Each shirt is going for just $12 plus tax and shipping, with $6 of each t-shirt purchase being donated to the CCUL-PAC. Shirts ordered by September 19 will be delivered in time for International Credit Union Day, October 16.

CU T’s was launched in 2012 through collaboration between Financial Center Credit Union and I.C. Ink. For countless years, FCCU had created a t-shirt in celebration of International Credit Union Day. The sometimes edgy but always fun shirts were favorites of the staff and volunteers who purchased them annually, with all proceeds going to support the CCUL-PAC.Financial Center has had a long tradition of supporting the political endeavors of the CCUL with donations from 100 percent of the volunteers and managers. But they found that sometimes it was more difficult to get the same participation from frontline staff; when the t-shirts were introduced, the credit union saw more than 90 percent participation from staff.

“It’s important for everyone in the industry – from the executives down to the frontline staff – to get behind the credit union movement,” said Duffy. “Most people don’t want to be lectured about the merits of the cooperative structure. By doing something creative and fun, it makes it easier for staff and members to take note of the message.”

With each CU T t-shirt purchased, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the California Credit Union League Political Action Committee (CCUL-PAC). Donations to the CCUL-PAC are not tax deductible under state or federal law.
