Work underway to bring Veridian branch back to Logan Ave. in Waterloo, Iowa

WATERLOO, IA (July 1, 2025) |

Veridian Credit Union employees recently joined representatives from the City of Waterloo, Grow Cedar Valley and other community partners to celebrate the start of construction on a new Veridian branch at 2300 Logan Ave. in Waterloo, Iowa. The new branch will restore services previously provided by a Veridian branch located inside a former Hy-Vee store less than a mile away. Hy-Vee decided to permanently close that store in June of 2024.

“When we learned that we’d have to close our branch located inside the former Logan Avenue Hy-Vee store, we knew it would create a financial desert and we understood the hardship that creates in our community,” said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer. “We’re grateful to have found a way to continue serving our members here in person.”

The new branch will offer all the same services previously offered in Veridian’s former Logan Ave. branch with the addition of drive-up access. A grand opening is expected in the summer of 2026.
