Your Credit Union Partner (YCUP) announced the launch of a new podcast this week that aims to highlight the leaders and events shaping the future of the credit union industry. Called Credit Union Nation and hosted by Tom Sakash, strategic consulting officer at YCUP, the podcast will feature in-depth conversations with credit union leaders on topics such as growth, leadership, culture, and the state of the industry overall.
“I’ve had the great fortune of meeting countless leaders of credit unions during my career in this industry,” said Sakash. “Some of my most rewarding moments have been in conversations with these individuals about their passion for the credit union movement. So it only seems right that we share these insightful discussions with the rest of the credit union community. It’s our fun way of celebrating the magic of credit unions.”
The first five episodes of the podcast can be found on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, and Amazon. New episodes will be released weekly.
Episode 1 featured Teri Robinson, president/CEO of Ironworkers USA FCU, Portland, Ore., who discussed the news of her Herb Wegner Award, which will be presented at the America’s Credit Unions Governmental Affairs Conference in March.
“We are so excited to launch this new way to provide ideas and strategies for success to our credit union friends,” said Scott Butterfield, principal and founder of Your Credit Union Partner, a leading provider of strategic planning, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) certification, grant support, and field of membership expansion services. “Tom and I have learned a great deal from the leaders of credit unions across the country, and sharing those best practices and inspiring stories through this new platform is a valuable new way for us to make an impact.”
Sakash previously led the small credit union programs at America’s Credit Unions, with a focus on advocacy, strategy, and training.
