Yolo FCU recently partnered with design agency BloomCU to push the limits of credit union website design. The result is one of the smartest, most forward-thinking credit union websites ever created.
From the sleekly designed homepage, it’s clear that this website is something different. Site visitors have the option to cut right to the chase and pick what they want out of the website by using a strategically placed, interactive form. For example, they can choose: “I want to borrow for a car”, or “I want to save for a home”.
Not only can users interact with the new homepage, it also interacts with them. BloomCU actually designed multiple homepage variations that display conditionally based on a user’s preferences and past site interactions. For example, a user who has expressed interested in auto loans will be shown content centered on buying a new car. This real-time content personalization will help Yolo FCU win more conversions and build a broader membership base.
Yolo FCU’s credit union website design features a number of quizzes to help users find out which products will work best for their circumstances. For example, one quiz can help determine “Is a Traditional IRA or a Roth right for me?” The quizzes have been placed on relevant product pages throughout the website. Yolo is excited about the quizzes, which are aimed both at educating site visitors, and encouraging interactivity.
Other site improvements include a beautiful new blog, easy-to-navigate menus, and an aesthetic that shows off plenty of Yolo County’s natural beauty. Each site update and decision was made using data, from both external studies on good credit union website design, and internal usability tests done by BloomCU.
