Youth-focused financial wellness podcast launches from Premier America Credit Union

CHATSWORTH, CA (February 6, 2025) |

Premier America Credit Union has launched a new podcast titled, “The Launch” for young savers and the adults in their lives, to listen to together in hopes of improving financial knowledge and ultimately, a long-term awareness of financial well-being.

“The younger we can start teaching and putting into practice good financial behaviors, the greater likelihood of strong, positive outcomes later in life,” said Alfredo Martinez, Financial Inclusion & Education Officer at Premier America. Martinez also serves as one of the show’s hosts.

Last year, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2927, which added the completion of a separate, stand-alone one-semester course in personal finance to the graduation requirements commencing with pupils graduating in the 2030-31 school year.

The weekly podcast, which is available on top platforms including Apple Podcasts and Spotfiy, is also available as a video show on YouTube, and is free for everyone.

“We believe that by empowering our young savers and collaboratively teaching good financial behaviors with the adults in their lives, will pay dividends for them down the road,” said Richard Dedor, VP Marketing at Premier America.

Each Saturday morning a new show is released and is meant to be listened to children and their adults. The hosts, Frankie Cohen and Martinez, talk through a financial lesson with real-life examples and experiences, and close with a shared assignment.

The show is taped and produced at Premier America’s headquarters in Los Angeles. More information may be found at https://www.premieramerica.com/learn/education/podcasts/the-launch-podcast.
