3 unconventional ways (and a bonus) to get motivated

Its Wednesday, you have made it through half of the week and you are eyeing the weekend. You might be looking at your computer right now knowing that you have work to do but just can’t seem to find the motivation to do it. Here are a few things you can do that might be outside of the traditional ways.

Clean your desk.

Will in your work rut take a look at your desk. Is there a coffee cup from this morning? Maybe a ton of papers you have been meaning to take to the recycle. No matter what it is clearing those things and sprucing your desk up a little might be just enough to get you moving forward again.

Change your music.

Are you currently listening to your weekend “kick back” music? Think about changing it up. Whether it is music that pumps you up or some classical music that zones you in finding what works for you might just be what you need to get out of your motivation log jam.

Our office used to enjoy some Jock Jams when we needed a pick me up.

Find a little YouTube motivation.

There are plenty of people who are extremely motivating. YouTube makes it easy to find someone you find motivating who might just give you the boost you need to move forward.

Don’t think about just work, even listening to someone that might motivate you for a workout can help!

Bonus.

Working for CUInsight.com I am in a unique working situation, I get to telework. When I know I have a lot of work and drive needed for my day I make sure I get up and get ready like I am going into the office. Something about this makes my work seem so much easier when I lack the motivation that I normally have.
