3 ways to save on Labor Day weekend

The kids are back in school, college football is almost here, and hopefully cooler weather is on it’s way … can you believe Labor Day weekend is a week away?! You may not be traveling like you’d prefer this year (#inflation), but you can still have a great weekend away without breaking the bank. Here are three ways you can save this Labor Day weekend…

Pitch a tent: Camping can be a fun time and it’s also a lot cheaper than staying in a hotel or at a resort. Enjoy the last bit of summer by sleeping under the stars. If you can make it to the mountains, you may get a little relief from the heat that’s BEEN SO GREAT THIS SUMMER.

Pack your chef’s hat: One of the biggest expenses you have when on vacation is food. If you’re staying somewhere with a full kitchen, make the grocery store your first stop upon arrival. By cooking breakfast and lunch, you can save money to spend on dining out at great local spots. Plus, who doesn’t love breakfast? You can eat like a king for cheap.

Embrace the free stuff: Most hotels provide essential toiletries like soap, shampoo and conditioner, as well as other things like an iron. Sure, your things may be nicer, but using free stuff is never a bad idea. Plus, your suitcase will be a little bit lighter.
