Holy Rosary Credit Union (HRCU) in Rochester, NH, announces Mortgage Origination Manager Eric Palmer has been selected for New Hampshire Housing’s Homeownership Fellows Program and Lending Advisory Committee.
“It is our pleasure to congratulate Eric Palmer upon his acceptance into this prestigious program,” said HRCU President and CEO Brian Hughes. “The knowledge gained from this unique experience will allow Eric, as part of the larger HRCU team, to deliver our members the highest quality of service and expertise possible.”
Palmer is one of 11 New Hampshire professionals, specializing in housing and homeownership, to be selected as a 2025 Fellow.
The nine-month fellowship provides participants with the chance to delve into the residential mortgage finance system and engage in discussions on housing and public policy, economic development and the perspectives of state and local government.
“It is an honor to be selected for the 2025 New Hampshire Housing’s Homeownership Fellowship Program,” said Palmer. “Upon my completion of the program, I look forward to using this experience to continue to help our valued members achieve the goal of homeownership.”
During the program, Palmer will interact with NH Housing staff, national and state housing officials, public officials and seasoned mortgage lenders, among others.
Recently, Palmer, joined by the other fellows, visited Washington D.C., to engage with members of New Hampshire’s congressional delegation, representatives from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, the Mortgage Bankers Association and the National Association of Realtors to expand his knowledge and further strengthen his skills in housing finance.
Through experiential learning and discussion, fellows gain an expanded awareness of the mortgage industry, the needs and challenges of homebuyers and a broader understanding of how to promote successful homeownership to individuals and families in New Hampshire.
Palmer also joined NH Housing’s Lending Advisory Committee. In his capacity as a member of the lending advisory committee, he will be able to offer a credit union’s perspective to NH Housing. This will allow him to offer insight on how the NH Housing programs and policies affect homeownership within the HRCU footprint and give valuable information on how changes can affect members looking to purchase a new house.
As HRCU’s mortgage origination manager, Palmer works directly with members to assist them in buying their first home, dream home or investment property. Additionally, he assists homeowners in taking advantage of their home’s equity. He provides HRCU’s leadership team with member insights on various programs available through the credit union.
