Members First Credit Union (M1) is proud to announce the recipients of its annual scholarship program, awarding $2,500 to four outstanding students who exemplify leadership, academic success, and community commitment. Each scholarship honors M1 members making a difference through higher education.
Anirudh Krishnan, a freshman at Johns Hopkins University studying Applied Mathematics and Statistics, is a 2024 graduate of Plymouth High School. He was named Scholar Athlete of the Year and founded AK Friendship Circle, supporting neurodiverse youth.
Avery Kelliher, an incoming student at Taylor University majoring in Film and Media, is a dedicated student-athlete from Jenison High School. She’s actively involved in involved in local outreach projects and church activities.
Elijah Kell, a senior at Midland High School, will attend Saginaw Valley State University to study Accounting. A scholar-athlete with a 4.2 GPA, he’s the starting quarterback and a three-sport varsity athlete, recognized for his academic and athletic achievements.
Ella Waskevich, a senior at Midland High School, will study Civil Engineering at Michigan Technological University. She’s an honor roll student, 4-H Club President, and active community volunteer with a passion for STEM and service.
“We’re incredibly excited to support the dreams and goals of these four exceptional students,” said Kristen Williamson, Community Relations Leader at Members First Credit Union. “Out of the many outstanding applications we received, these individuals stood out with their passion, ambition, and dedication to making a difference. M1 is honored to be part of their educational journey.”
The M1 Scholarship Program is funded through the Swinging for Scholarships Golf Outing, a 27-year tradition that brings members, businesses, and the community together to support the next generation of leaders. The 2025 outing will be held on July 22, and there’s still time to sign up as a golfer or sponsor to support this impactful cause.
