Alltru Credit Union, a leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving the Greater St. Louis area, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Cote, Christopher Woods, and Phyllis Bruemer to its board of directors.
As a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution, Alltru is governed by a volunteer board of directors elected by its membership. Board members serve three-year terms and are selected during the credit union’s annual meeting each spring. This year, Alltru members reappointed two incumbent board members and elected one new board member.
Dr. Robert (Bob) Cote, a member of Alltru for 15 years, has served on Alltru’s board since 2019. Cote is the program director and a teaching professor for the Bachelor of Arts Organizational Leadership Program at the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL). He is also a certified leadership coach and certified manager with more than 25 years of experience across multiple industries in various management and leadership roles.
Christopher Wood brings 11 years of service on Alltru’s board and supervisory committee and has been a credit union member for 16 years. Wood currently works for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as the Executive Director of Internal Audit. Wood brings prior experience as a treasurer for several organizations and holds credentials as both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner.
New to the board is Phyllis Bruemer, who brings over 21 years of experience in the non-profit healthcare sector. Since retiring from Ascension, one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems, Bruemer currently volunteers with the City of Lake St. Louis Tree Board and Ascension’s Medical Mission at Home program. Her background in project management, research, analysis and budgeting is expected to benefit the credit union in her new role.
