MOUNT PLEASANT, MI (August 4, 2025) |
Members First Credit Union is thrilled to announce that its 27th Annual Swinging for Scholarships Golf Outing, raised $10,000. This event will directly empower students pursuing higher education or skilled trades in 2026 through scholarships, helping them take meaningful strides toward their academic and career aspirations. Held at the Pohl Cat Golf Course, this sold-out outing welcomed 36 teams, 144 golfers, and over 70 sponsors. The event featured friendly competition, community spirit, and a whole lot of joy.
“Our annual golf outing is truly a celebration of more than just the game; it’s an opportunity to celebrate student success,” said Bethany Dutcher, Vice President of Marketing at Members First Credit Union. “We are grateful for our members, sponsors, and partners whose unwavering support makes this amazing event possible each year!”
What began 27 years ago with just two $500 scholarships has grown into a pillar of the credit union’s charitable giving—now awarding four $2,500 scholarships annually. Founded in 1936 by teachers and school employees, Members First Credit Union proudly continues to honor its educational roots through initiatives like this.
Members First thanks to all golfers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and the team at Pohl Cat Golf Course for making this event a continued success. To learn more about the scholarship program, visit mfcu.net/Scholarships.
