PHOENIX, AZ (August 12, 2025) |
Emelda Baca, senior vice president of consumer lending at Arizona Financial Credit Union, has been named one of the Most Influential Women in Arizona for 2025 by AZ Business Magazine. She will be recognized alongside fellow honorees at a celebratory dinner hosted by AZ Big Media on August 21, 2025.
A longtime advocate for innovation and financial inclusivity, Baca has dedicated her career to expanding access to credit and lending solutions for all Arizonans, particularly those in underserved communities. Under her leadership, Arizona Financial Credit Union has introduced groundbreaking tools such as artificial intelligence underwriting and alternative data usage, helping more people across the credit spectrum qualify for the financial support they need.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized among so many trailblazing women across Arizona,” Baca shared. “This award reflects not just my work, but the values we live every day at Arizona Financial – empowering our members, investing in innovation and making financial services more accessible to everyone in our community.”
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Baca is known for mentoring rising leaders, encouraging women to own their voice and stay curious throughout their careers. Outside the office, she enjoys movie nights with her three children and has passed down her love of classic films.
The Most Influential Women in Arizona award celebrates women leaders who are making a significant impact across Arizona’s business, nonprofit, and public sectors. This year’s honorees were selected through a competitive process that began with more than 2,200 nominations. After a thorough review by the AZ Business editorial board and a panel of past honorees, a final group was chosen for their leadership, innovation, and service to their industries and communities.
