Compass Community Credit Union holds back to school supply drive

Eureka, CA (September 18, 2025) |

Compass Community Credit Union recently participated in a Back-to-School drive  for Humboldt County families. The credit union, along with Bicoastal Media and the Humboldt  County Office of Education, teamed up for the Stuff the Bus Back-to-School Drive. Collection  bins were made available at the Compass Arcata and Henderson Center branches, starting on  July 28th through August 22nd.

The Stuff the Bus big event was held on Friday, August 15th in the Walmart parking lot in  Eureka. The community was encouraged to bring school supplies with the goal of stuffing the  bus. Items collected included backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and more to help students across  Humboldt County start the year strong.

“We believe in investing in local students and their education,” said Ray Litchfield, President  and CEO of Compass Community Credit Union. We want to make it easier for students to  succeed by giving them the tools and supplies they need. Partnering with Bi-Coastal and the  Humboldt County Office of Education made a lot of sense and together, we made a tremendous  impact on the lives of these students.”

Suzanne Tibbles, Sales & Marketing Account Executive from Bi-Coastal Media added, “I just  wanted to take a moment to thank Compass Community Credit Union again for being a valued  sponsor of this year’s Stuff the Bus promotion. The event was a success, and it truly would not  have been possible without the support and partnership of Compass, along with many others in  the community. We are so grateful!!!”
