Sound Credit Union supports Homes First through annual employee fundraiser

TACOMA, WA (October 15, 2025) |

Sound Credit Union (Sound) recently hosted its annual employee charity  fundraiser benefitting Homes First, a local nonprofit in creating and maintaining safe,  healthy, and affordable homes for people in Thurston County.

Sound team members worked with their business partners and local businesses to collect more than 40 items in support of a fundraising event. Employees contributed by selecting  and donating toward their favorite items, with all proceeds directed to support Homes First.  The fundraiser raised more than $17,000 to help the organization advance its mission of  expanding access to affordable housing in Thurston County. “We are deeply grateful for this  generous donation to Homes First. This contribution will make a meaningful difference in the  lives of individuals, who are working hard to rebuild their lives and find stable housing,” said  Trudy Soucoup, CEO of Homes First. “Support like this allows us to provide not just a home,  but access to the comprehensive services and compassionate care that help people  transition to a life with hope for a better future. On behalf of everyone we serve, thank you for  believing in our mission and investing in our community's members who struggle most to  find and retain a home they can afford."

For over 85 years, Sound has been dedicated to strengthening the communities it serves  through volunteerism, donations, and partnerships with local nonprofits addressing critical  needs such as housing, hunger, and financial education.

“As a financial institution, we see firsthand the struggles people face to find affordable  housing,” said Jennifer Reed, Vice President of Public Relations at Sound Credit Union. “This  fundraiser brought our team members together for a fun and friendly competition that,  more importantly, allowed us to give back to Homes First and support their impactful work in  our community.”
