FRESNO, CA (November 21, 2025) |
Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) partnered once again with the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools to celebrate exceptional educators and school staff at the 2025 Fresno County Educator of the Year Awards ceremony on November 20.
Since 1991, EECU has partnered with the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools to host this annual celebration, recognizing educators who inspire students and strengthen the community.
Elizabeth J. Dooley, EECU president and CEO, presented awards to recognize this year’s honorees, who were nominated by their peers from across Fresno County’s 32 school districts.
“For more than 30 years, we’ve stood alongside the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools to honor the people who make our classrooms shine,” Dooley said. “These educators show up every day for their students and their impact reaches far beyond the classroom. We’re proud to celebrate their dedication and the difference they make in our community.”
The 2025 Fresno County Educator of the Year honorees are:
- School Employee of the Year – Vladimir Wells, Campus Safety Assistant, Yosemite Middle School
- Administrator of the Year – Lucio Cortez, Principal, Laton High School
- Teacher of the Year – Maritza Ceballos, Preschool Master Teacher, Lighthouse for Children, Child Development Center
The Educator of the Year Awards remain a valued tradition in Fresno County, shining a spotlight on the teachers, administrators, and school staff who shape the future of local students. The celebration is one of six annual countywide events proudly sponsored by EECU to recognize and support exemplary educators and school staff.
