SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union and community leaders celebrate new Los Angeles Mid-City branch

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union welcomed Members, local elected officials and community leaders on March 13 to celebrate the grand opening of its new Los Angeles Mid-City Branch. This event reflects the Credit Union’s continued commitment to serving Los Angeles and being a trusted financial partner for the 10,000 Members who live and work within five miles of this branch.

“When we open a new branch, it’s about making it easier for our Members to get the support they need right in their own neighborhood,” said Jose Lara, president of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. “The Los Angeles Mid-City Branch allows us to deliver caring, personalized service for school employees and their families at every stage of their financial journey.”  

Senator Lola Smallwood Cuevas, Congresswoman Laura Friedman, Karen Calderon from the Office of Assemblymember Isaac Brown, Dr. Amanuel Gebru, president, Los Angeles City College and Irma Gorrocino, legislative advocate at California's Credit Unions presented certificates of recognition to SchoolsFirst FCU leaders and joined in an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. 

During her remarks, Senator Smallwood Cuevas shared, “The opening of this branch is a signal of growth, prosperity and financial strength. We are committed to ensuring we remain a place where families can thrive, businesses can grow and institutions like SchoolsFirst FCU can be part of this community for a very long time.”

The Los Angeles Mid-City Branch brings SchoolsFirst FCU branch locations to 72 locations across California.
