Humanidei selected to lead national CEO search for successor.

Ontario, CA (April 30, 2026) |

Plexcity has announced that Tony Kitt will retire as President and Chief Executive Officer at the end of 2026, marking the culmination of a remarkable career in the credit union movement and more than a decade of visionary leadership since founding Plexcity.

Kitt has served as President/CEO since Plexcity’s inception, transforming the organization from an idea into a trusted and innovative partner within the credit union ecosystem. His leadership has been defined by a deep commitment to people, a bias for action, and an unwavering belief in the power of cooperation—especially as it can be accomplished through the league system in credit unions.

Throughout his career, Kitt has been widely recognized for both his leadership and his significant impact. He helped advance early payments and fintech solutions and served on the board of Ensenta, contributing to its successful acquisition by Jack Henry. His contributions have been honored through the Credit Union Museum’s “Unsung Heroes” exhibit and his induction into the African-American Credit Union Coalition Hall of Fame—recognition that reflects his enduring commitment to inclusion, opportunity, and leadership within the industry. He has also been celebrated for his dedication to innovation, mentorship, and service to the broader credit union movement. Prior to joining the credit union movement, Kitt served 20 years as an officer in the United States Air Force in financial management staff and command roles.

“Tony is the kind of leader who doesn’t just build organizations, he builds momentum,” said Paul Mercer, President/CEO of the Ohio Credit Union League and Chair of the Plexcity Board of Directors. “He has consistently challenged the status quo, elevated those around him, and led with both conviction and humility. Plexcity has grown to what it is today because of his vision. It will continue to thrive because of the foundation he has built.”

Under Kitt’s leadership, Plexcity has distinguished itself through its focus on forward-thinking solutions, strong partnerships, and a culture grounded in purpose and performance. His ability to anticipate industry needs and his relentless focus on execution have positioned Plexcity for continued relevance and growth in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape.

“It has been an extraordinary journey,” said Kitt. “To build something from the ground up alongside such talented and committed people is something I will always be grateful for. I believe deeply in the future of Plexcity and in the leaders who will carry it forward.”

To support the next chapter of leadership, Plexcity has engaged Humanidei to lead a national search for its next President/CEO. Known for its deep expertise in the credit union industry and its commitment to values-aligned leadership, Humanidei is expected to attract a highly qualified and robust pool of candidates.

“This moment is not just a CEO transition. It is a critical moment of impact for our system,” said Mercer. “We are looking for a leader who will honor what has been built while bringing the courage and clarity to take Plexcity even further. We know this search will surface exceptional candidates who are ready to carry us forward.”

Kitt will remain in his role through the end of 2026 to ensure a thoughtful and seamless transition.
