Raiz Federal Credit Union and CEO Max Villaronga recently joined credit union leaders, policymakers, and community advocates in Washington, D.C., for the Opportunity Knock$ Congressional Panel Discussion & Reception, a national conversation focused on financial empowerment, economic opportunity, and the impact of community-based financial institutions.
Hosted at the U.S Capitol Visitor Center during Financial Capability Month, the event brought together leaders from across the country to discuss the importance of accessible financial education, long-term financial stability, and solutions that help families build stronger futures.
Villaronga participated as part of the nationally recognized PBS series Opportunity Knock$, which features real stories of financial challenges, growth, and resilience while connecting families with trusted financial guidance and support. Raiz Federal Credit Union is featured in the series through its commitment to helping members and communities grow through opportunity-focused financial solutions.
The congressional event focused on financial access, education, and collaborative solutions that support long-term stability for working families and underserved communities. It highlighted how credit unions and community-based organizations continue creating pathways to economic growth and mobility through education, financial access, and community-driven support.
