Eight area non-profit organizations receive grants to support community programs.
KIMBERLY, WI – Capital Credit Union, headquartered in Kimberly, Wis., recently named the 2012 recipients of the Capital Credit Union Charitable Giving Fund, awarding a total of $32,000 in grant monies to these qualifying non-profit organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley, Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, Compassionate Home Health Care, the Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, the Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities, NAMI Fox Valley, St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, and the St. Joseph Food Program.
Administered by the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Region, Inc. the Capital Credit Union Charitable Giving Fund is an enduring community outreach program established by Capital in 2009 to benefit community residents via grants to area non-profit organizations. Applications are received through the Community Foundation and awarded in January each year. Grants were distributed this year as follows:
$5,000 each to:
- The Boys and Girls Club of the Fox Valley to support Kids Café, a program that meets basic needs, serving more than 140,000 healthy, nutritious meals and snacks each year to Club members.
- Compassionate Home Health Care to support Project Outreach, designed to educate community residents about the importance of the flu vaccine, as well as providing the vaccine free of charge to those who cannot afford them.
- NAMI Fox Valley for their ongoing education, support and advocacy programs that help people live well with mental illness.
- St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation to support the Basic Needs Program, making a positive impact on the lives of those in the community by providing assistance to the poor, homeless, under-insured and uninsured in our area.
$4,000 to:
- St. Joseph Food Program to support the CHAMP (Community, Health, Activity, Motivation and Prevention) Program, a nutrition education program staffed by volunteer dieticians and interns, which encourages self-sufficiency among clients.

Capital Charitable Giving Fund
$3,000 to:
- Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities to support the Transitional Housing Program (THP), designed to help move families out of the shelter into a supportive services-enriched program.
$2,500 each to:
- Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services to support the Emergency Shelter Program, serving women and children who are fleeing from an abusive home by providing immediate safety and ensuring that their basic needs are met.
- Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity to support the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI), which partners with existing, low-income homeowners who are struggling with critical maintenance of their homes.
