United named inspiring workplace in North American for third consecutive year

ST. JOSEPH, MI (June 23, 2026) |

United Federal Credit Union (United) has once again been ranked in the Top 100 Workplaces in North America by Inspiring Workplaces Group, in association with Engagedly, marking the third consecutive year the credit union has earned this prestigious recognition.

This continued recognition underscores United’s unwavering commitment to building a people-first culture and further solidifies its position as a leader among workplaces across the continent.

In addition to securing a spot in the top 40 overall rankings, United was recognized for best-in class certificates for inspiring leadership and inspiring inclusion and belonging.

Unlike other awards that rely on survey results alone, entrants to the Inspiring Workplaces Awards are required to demonstrate measurable investment in their people. Submissions are evaluated based on six key elements that the IW Group identifies as fundamental to creating a PeopleFirst culture.

“Being named an Inspiring Workplace for the third consecutive year reinforces what makes United special: our people and the culture we’ve built together,” said United President and CEO Terry O’Rourke. “At United, our people aren’t just part of our success, they are the driving force behind it. Team United lives our ‘people helping people’ mission every day, supporting one another, our members, and our communities in meaningful ways. This recognition speaks to the culture they’ve built together and the pride they take in making a difference.”

An independent judge noted that by United “investing intentional in leadership growth, the company reinforces a culture where development, accountability, and long-term success are shared priorities. Equally notable is the organization’s focus on employee wellbeing,” reinforcing the organization’s sustained excellence in employee experience.

According to Inspiring Workplaces Group, the 2026 winners represent the very best of what PeopleFirst cultures can achieve in a complex and rapidly evolving world of work.

Matt Manners, Founder, Inspiring Workplaces Group, commented, “Our 2026 winners across North American are leading by example. They are proving that when businesses put PeopleFirst and build cultures based on trust, inclusion and belonging, they create the resilience and agility needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world of work.”
