Sound Credit Union begins construction on new Parkland branch

Sound Credit Union (Sound) will temporarily close its Parkland branch, located at 9911 Pacific Ave., on July 24, 2026, to begin construction of a new, modern branch designed to better serve members and the surrounding community.

The current building, located at the corner of 99th Street and Pacific Avenue, was originally constructed in 1977 as a Pacific First Federal Savings and Loan branch. Sound Credit Union has owned and operated the location since 1997.

“We have more than 17,000 members who live within a five-mile radius of this branch,” said Ryan Zilker, Executive Vice President, Chief Growth Officer of Sound Credit Union. “While we have made improvements to the facility over the years, the time is right to invest in a new branch that will enhance the member experience and strengthen our ability to serve the Parkland community for decades to come.”

Following demolition of the existing structure, construction will begin on a new branch at the same location. Sound partnered with BCRA to design the new facility, and Korsmo Construction will serve as general contractor for the project.

Construction is expected to take nine to twelve months, with the new branch anticipated to open in the second quarter of 2027.

During construction, members can continue to access their Sound accounts through digital banking or by visiting any of Sound’s other 25 full-service locations throughout the Puget Sound region. The nearest location is Sound’s Pacific Avenue branch at 3633 Pacific Ave., approximately four miles north of the Parkland branch.
