The Book Nook Bonanza 2013 Raises $60,000 to Help Keep Children SAFE!

YORK, PA (June 25, 2013) On June 21-23, 2013, First Capital Federal Credit Union staff volunteered their time at the York Hospital Auxiliary’s Book Nook Bonanza 2013.  This year’s Book Nook offered more than 250,000 books, hundreds of magazines, as well as VHS, DVD, albums and tapes for low prices.  In all, the three-day sale, held at the York City Ice Arena, raised more than $60,000.00.  The money will be used to support the Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) Nurse Team.  SAFE Nurses are specially trained professionals who understand the delicate nature of abuse against children. They perform the exams; make recommendations or referrals for further treatment and caregiver support groups.
