INDIANAPOLIS, IN (October 15, 2013) -- Inspirational speakers were among the highlights of the Indiana Credit Union League’s Convention Sept. 25-27.
Indiana University Basketball Coach Tom Crean was the featured keynote. His presentation “Coaching to Win: On the Court, in Business, in Life,” focused on the importance of leadership and how to cultivate a winning culture. Indiana Governor Mike Pence, a long-time friend of credit unions, shared his appreciation for credit unions’ role in Indiana’s economic environment. Samaritan’s Feet Founder Manny Ohonme shared a message of hope with attendees, many of whom brought monetary donations and shoes to support the efforts of Samaritan’s Feet. The contributions made during the Convention were enough to provide 1,345 shoes for children in Indiana and around the world.
“We were pleased to have more than 500 attendees at this year’s 79th annual convention,” said League President John McKenzie. “They represented almost 90 percent of Indiana’s 2.2 million members.”
Next year’s Indiana League Convention will take place Oct. 15-17.
